108 Monkeys is a movement of yoga service leaders who connect people and promote a culture of justice and peace, through yoga. One way we build this corp of yoga service leaders is through a rigorous Yoga Alliance Registered 200 Hour Yoga School.

David Alpert joined 108 Monkeys as a trainee exactly one year ago this week. Today, he is leading weekly yoga classes, in a bike co-op garage in his neighborhood for $10 a class (unless you need it to be less). With a few mats and blocks, donated by 108 Monkeys, a garage is transformed into a pop up yoga studio.

There is no schedule. No class cards. When the stars align… as in when the Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op , has free space and so does Dave’s schedule… Dave posts a date and time for the yoga class to FB. And people come.

On September 13, Dave is hosting a benefit class at the Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op to support his 108 Monkeys Team in Yoga Reaches Out Connecticut. YRO CT is a yoga fundraiser for Sandy Hook Promise and for 108 Monkeys. No preregistration necessary. Bring a mat if you have one.

Want to train like Dave?
